DTF Transfers FAQ
Gang Sheet vs. Individual Transfers
What is a gang sheet?
A gang sheet lets you arrange multiple designs on a single sheet to maximize your print area and lower your cost per transfer. Instead of ordering one transfer at a time, you fill a sheet with as many designs as you need and we print it as one piece.
When should I order individual transfers instead?
Individual (single-design) transfers are a good fit when you only need one design repeated many times, or when you're testing a new design before committing to a full gang sheet. If you're unsure, start with a small sheet to test placement and color before a larger run.
Sheet Sizing & Quantity
What sizes are available?
We offer gang sheets in seven 22-inch-wide sizes:
- 22" × 12"
- 22" × 18"
- 22" × 24"
- 22" × 36"
- 22" × 48"
- 22" × 60"
- 22" × 72"
How do I know which size to order?
Add up the height of all the designs you plan to include (allow a small gap between each), and choose the sheet length that fits them comfortably. When in doubt, size up — unused space is not wasted if it prevents you from having to reorder.
Is there a minimum order?
There is no minimum quantity per order. You can order a single sheet.
File Preparation
What file format do you require?
Please submit PNG files at 300 DPI with a transparent background. Files that do not meet these specs may produce subpar results and may require a revision before printing.
How should I set up my art for a gang sheet?
Arrange your designs in your editing software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, etc.) on a canvas that matches the sheet size you're ordering. Keep designs at least 0.25" apart. Export the finished layout as a 300 DPI PNG with transparency before uploading.
What if my file has a white background instead of transparent?
White backgrounds will print as white on your garment. Always verify your file shows a transparent (checkerboard) background before submitting.
Fabric Compatibility
What fabrics work with DTF transfers?
DTF transfers adhere to most fabric types including cotton, polyester, cotton/poly blends, nylon, and leather. They generally perform best on smooth, tightly woven fabrics.
Are there fabrics I should avoid?
Performance fabrics with moisture-wicking coatings and very stretchy athletic material can have adhesion challenges. If you're unsure whether your fabric will work, we strongly recommend pressing a test transfer on a swatch before doing your full run.
Where can I find pressing and care instructions?
See our dedicated Pressing & Care Instructions page for full time, temperature, and pressure guidelines.
